Design Requirement Analysis

The basic requirement of “A Structured Data Networking Design for BulSU-CICT” is that it should be accessible, fast, secured, flexible and efficient connection to share, print, e-mail, access internet, database access and other specialized applications. All students have ability to access e-mail, web browsing, files sharing and printing if needed. All faculty and staff have the same privileges with all the student and laptop connection from anywhere and secure access. Technical Staff should configure, fault, perform and secure networking management. Laptop includes in IP addressing assignment. Some of the requirements may lead to problem issues that should be resolved, or one may sometimes have to make a decision in which difficult selection from a number of alternatives may be available. The principle was set up that we make a specification from scratch and consider every alternative that we can think of when we make a decision.

Project Scope

This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the data network design, and for the procurement of equipment and works that are required to achieve the College’s goals. This project also ensures the accuracy, efficiency, security, and functionality of its implementation.

Project Goal

Posted by Mackoy at 3:39 AM 0 comments
The main purpose of this project is to design a data network to support its application. This will provide connectivity and access to different services (e.g, Internet, e-mail, file and printer sharing) to all faculty and staff and better classroom instruction to the students. This project will also implement the security while the authorized user wants to access a certain application.

Introduction

The College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) is an educational institution that has a lot of significant information to offer and provide for the students and faculty. Thru the continuously innovation of technology, computer related studies became so in demand to the society.

College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) building is located near the main entrance of the university. The third and fourth floors are the Academic Building houses of CICT’s BSIT and BIT-Computer Technology program. In addition, the ground floor of the Natividad Hall which is for the computer-related courses and the newly acquired second floor of the Marcelo H. del Pilar College of Law Building for additional laboratory and lecture rooms. On the ground floor of Natividad Hall located the four laboratory classrooms and an Internet Rental facility.

In line with this, the CICT has more than 60 faculty members skilled in the diversified field of ICT. Mr. Fausto Hilario as College Dean. Mr. Jaime P. Pulumbarit, Mrs. Eunice B. Custodio, and Mrs. Raquel C. Adriano, was appointed as development head for BSIT program, BIT-Computer Technology Program and Computer Relates Courses respectively.

CICT is constantly increasing its services to support its students, faculty, and staff as it increased in population. The researchers propose a plan to design a data network for its infrastructure to provide better support to the whole college.

My Individual Progress Report

Posted by Mackoy at 5:54 AM 1 comments
After checking the existing class room environment, the last thing that I did in our project was designing a network for the rooms in the Natividad Hall (A1, A2, A3, Ice4). Lilian and I also checked for the specifications of the computers, and checked the existing network in Ice4. Later on, we then planned our network design, that was connecting the networks in Natividad Hall to the networks in the CICT building.

In my own deeds, I made the final touches of our blog; and I was also the one who put the information that are required to be included.

my individual progress report

We conducted a data gathering for the specification of the existing computer on Law Building. At first me and my partner ask for the technician and also to the room custodian, so we can get the details of the computers that we needed. After that we created a proposal floorplan and then we can move to the other process that we need to do.
